Refund and Cancellation Policy

Alama provides professional services, not physical products, so exchanges do not apply. This policy explains when you can get a refund and when you cannot.

1. Before filing

The study of your mark is free, and we ask for no payment before your application is officially filed with the Saudi Authority for Intellectual Property (SAIP). You can withdraw at any time before filing at no cost.

2. After filing

Once the application is filed, the study, preparation and filing have been done and the filing fee has been paid to SAIP. Cancelling the service and refunding the first payment (SAR 1,400) after filing without an acceptable reason is therefore not possible, except in the case described in section 3. The second payment (SAR 1,400) is only due when the registration certificate is issued.

3. Refunds under the study guarantee

If SAIP rejects your mark for a reason we did not tell you about in our study before filing, you can choose:

• a refund of the fee you paid us, plus the SAIP filing fee (SAR 1,000); or
• a new application or an appeal filed at no extra fee, with us paying the SAIP fee (SAR 1,000) for you.

The guarantee applies even if the rejection reason differs from the one we told you about. If the mark is rejected for a reason we told you about in advance and you chose to file anyway, no refund applies; we file a new application or write the appeal at no extra fee, and the SAIP fees remain yours to pay.

In every case, each order includes at no extra fee: one new application, one appeal and one reply to an opposition.

4. SAIP fees

SAIP fees are government fees paid directly to SAIP and are not refundable by SAIP under its rules. We only cover them under the study guarantee in section 3.

5. How to request a refund, and how long it takes

Send your request with the trademark application number and the rejection decision to contact@alama-sa.com or on WhatsApp at +966 57 047 3947. Once we have verified it, we refund the amount to the original payment method (card or bank transfer) within 14 business days. Your card issuer may take a few extra days to show it in your account.

6. Trademark translation service

Sections 1 to 4 apply to the trademark registration service. For the translation service:

• You may cancel your order and get a full refund of what you paid before the translation file is delivered.
• After delivery, the fee is not refundable, except under the correct-file guarantee: if SAIP returns your application because of an error in the translation or information we prepared and it cannot be corrected, we refund the translation fee in full.
• SAIP fees are paid to SAIP directly and are not part of the translation fee.

Refunds are requested as described in section 5.
